Qualification
(a) For Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {Auto Tech & IAF(P) Trades):-
  • Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Class XII or Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate as well as in English in Class XII or equivalent examination (OR)
  • Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.
(b) For Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade:-
  • Candidate should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Class XII or Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate as well as in English in Class XII or equivalent examination.

SSC has released SSC GD (Constables) 2019 exam on 21st July 2019 with 54953 vacancies. These vacancies will be filled by conduction SSC GD 2019 Exam. Aspirants can visit the official website of SSC to know the latest exam pattern and other details.


SSC GD 2019 Exam will be held to appoint eligible candidates for the post of constable in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen. The recruitment process comprises of four stages namely:


a) Physical Standard Test (PST)
b) Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 
c) Computer based test  
d) Medical test.

Promotion Policy related to SSC GD Constable
After a span of few years SSC GD constable gets a chance to be promoted to the post of Constable (GD). The appointment will be under separate CAPF Department. The time period varies from department to department. Sometimes the candidate have to undergo departmental exam for promotion while other times number of years or experience counts.

Educational Qualification for SSC CGD :

Candidates who have to apply for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen) should have passed 10th class or equivalent from an affiliated board.

Age Limit of SSC CGD: 

Candidate should be between 18 to 23 years to apply for SSC GD 2019 Exam. Those who belong to reserved categories will have age relaxation benefit. The age limit will be calculated with reference to 01/08/2019.

Exam Pattern of SSC GD 2019

SSC GD 2019 Exam will be held in three main phases:
